About Pippa | typeify Founder

When my parents sent me on a touch typing course at the age of 13, I had no idea that it would be by far the most useful extra curricular activity that I did!

I have always been passionate about STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths). I studied Mechanical Engineering at Nottingham University and initially worked for an international advertising agency in their Management Consultancy division for 9 years. I then joined Amazon and, worked for 6 years as a Senior Product Manager in their Books subsidiary business.

I have pivoted professionally to launch typeify, touch typing courses for children, teenagers and adults. Touch typing is a skill that I have always been passionate about. I completed a touch typing course when I was a teenager. It has since saved me thousands of hours as a student and in my professional career.

I was always surprised in meetings to see senior colleagues and clients writing in notebooks rather than taking digital notes. Whenever this came up in conversation, they would explain they wrote instead of typed because they could not type fast enough to keep pace with the meeting. This struck me as an inefficient use of time as they would invariably type their notes (slowly!) after the meeting.

My goal is to teach as many people as possible how to touch type. I believe it’s worth investing the time and effort, at any age, to learn this skill as our world becomes ever more digital.
