Our October Half Term touch typing course for children aged 9+ combines 5 hours of flexible practice during Half Term with 1 hour per week throughout November. Everything is completed online from home, with personalised tutor feedback throughout. Choose either week commencing 19th October or 26th October 2026.

How the Half Term course works
The course is split into two stages, giving students a focused start during October Half Term followed by weekly practice throughout November to help reinforce their touch typing skills.
1. Kickstart during Half Term
Students complete 5 hours of touch typing practice during October Half Term, with around 1 hour per day for 5 days. There are no live lessons, each hour can be completed flexibly from home at a time that suits you.
Students work through a personalised lesson plan on the Typeify online programme, developing correct finger placement, muscle memory and touch typing accuracy.
2. Build confidence throughout November
After Half Term, students continue with 1 hour of practice per week for 4 weeks throughout November.
This gives them time to reinforce the finger movements introduced during the intensive week and continue progressing through their personalised course.
Personal tutor support
There are no live lessons. Your Typeify tutor remotely reviews your progress and provides personalised feedback throughout the course, including advice on technique, accuracy and what to work on next.

Who is the course for?
The course is suitable for children aged 9+, including complete beginners. As the course is completed entirely from home and there are no live lessons, students can fit their typing practice around other Half Term and November commitments.

Which course level is right for my child?
Bronze - suitable for beginners. Students develop touch typing skills across all 26 letters of the keyboard, together with commonly used punctuation and words.
Silver - suitable for students who can already touch type all 26 letters. This level builds on existing touch typing skills with numbers, punctuation, dictation, accuracy and speed.

Your Typeify tutor remotely monitors progress, accuracy and practice throughout the course.

The online programme is complemented by an activity workbook included in the student's Welcome Pack.
6 months' post-course access
Students have access to the online programme for a further 6 months after the course, giving them additional opportunities to practise and reinforce their touch typing skills.

Q: When does my child complete the 5 hours during Half Term?

Q: Does my child need any touch typing experience?
No. The course is suitable for children aged 9+, including complete beginners. Students who already have some touch typing experience can start at an appropriate level.
Q: Do I need to supervise my child while they are touch typing?
No. The course is designed for students to work through independently from home. We recommend helping your child get set up at the beginning and encouraging them to complete their practice, but you do not need to sit with them while they are working.
Q: How does my child receive their personalised feedback?
Your Typeify tutor monitors your child’s progress remotely through the online programme and sends personalised feedback by email throughout the course. If your child has their own email address, the feedback can be sent directly to them with a parent copied in. Otherwise, it will be sent to the parent. Feedback includes comments on their progress, technique and accuracy, together with guidance on what to work on next.
Q: What setup do I need at home for my child to complete the course?
Your child will need a computer or laptop with a stable internet connection and a suitable desk or table. The course can be completed on a Windows PC or Apple Mac.
We provide a full-size colour-coded Typeify keyboard as part of the Welcome Pack. The keyboard uses a USB-A connection. If your computer only has USB-C ports, we will include the required adapter at no extra cost. You will be asked which connection you need when completing the booking form.
Q: Do we keep the Typeify keyboard after the course?
Yes. The Typeify keyboard is yours to keep and does not need to be returned. Your child can continue using it to practise their touch typing after the course has finished.
Q: What is included with the course?
The £140 course includes 9 hours of structured touch typing practice, a full-size colour-coded Typeify keyboard, Welcome Pack, access to the online programme for 6 months, personalised tutor feedback throughout and a course completion certificate.
Q: Can my child continue practising after the course finishes?
